Our
Story

Grit Sport Coaching was founded by two local cricketers, Alex Blake and Will MacVicar. Having played together in the Kent League for more than a decade, we made the decision to embark on a new coaching venture and thus started the company in September 2022. We both come from a background of first class cricket.

 

Alex, a current professional at Kent CCC since 2007, has played in various white ball competitions around the world, including the T20 Blast, the inaugural 100 ball and the Bangladesh Premier League in early 2023. Will played 4 first class games for Loughborough University, and is currently representing Cornwall in NCCA competitions.

 

Together we have won Kent League Premier titles and Kent T20 Cup for both Beckenham CC and Hayes (Kent) CC. The joy we share for playing cricket translates into our passion for coaching and guiding young players. With our knowledge and experience, our aim is to inspire the next generation to forge a similar relationship with cricket, to allow them to extract as much enjoyment from the game as possible.
