Upon opening Grit Sport Coaching were lucky enough to inherit the Bromley Bulldogs programme, one of 8 franchises that compete in the Kent Junior area programme. There are age group programmes for U10-U16, and squads are selected based on the result of trials that usually take place in September/October. While we are looking to make preliminary trials free and inclusive, we do rely on the nominations of local clubs who identify their stronger players they think are deserving of an invite. Our goal is to select players we believe that, with focused and tailored coaching, are able to go play at a higher level and represent the County. Trials will normally finish in early December, with playing squads being selected before Christmas. The full squad programme gets underway in the new year, where players will become accustomed to their teammates and team manager during an intensive period as we prepare for the season ahead. However, young players develop at different stages and speeds, so we do offer a development programme for players that are unsuccessful in the trial process but wish to continue to practise throughout the winter. The development programme will take place parallel to the full squad programme giving us the opportunity to reward players making significant improvements with a full squad place.
